ZEROBASEONE Breaks Through in Beijing: A Pop-Up Store Triumph Amidst 'Hallyu Ban'
ZEROBASEONE has achieved a remarkable feat by securing a large-scale pop-up store in Beijing, China, effectively challenging the so-called 'Hallyu Ban'. The top-tier group is set to host this event in Beijing's largest shopping complex, Chaoyang Joy City, known as the 'pop-up holy land of the mainland', for an impressive duration of 23 days from April 3 to 26. This move is particularly noteworthy as it signifies a potential easing of the 'Hallyu Ban' in China's capital.
The pop-up store, themed around ZEROBASEONE's fifth mini-album 'Blue Paradise', follows successful events in Seoul and Tokyo, highlighting the group's soaring popularity across Asia. The Seoul event, held at The Hyundai Seoul's Sounds Forest, spanned an area of 1,000 pyeong (approximately 3,305 square meters), drawing significant attention.
ZEROBASEONE's influence extends beyond South Korea, establishing them as a top-tier group in Japan and the Chinese-speaking world. Members Zhang Hao and Ricky, hailing from Fujian Province and Shanghai respectively, have played pivotal roles in bolstering the group's popularity in China, with numerous local endorsements.
'Blue Paradise' has dominated domestic and international music charts, reinforcing ZEROBASEONE's status as '5th generation icons'. The album achieved the remarkable feat of selling over 1 million copies on its release day, marking the fifth consecutive time the group has set such a record since their debut—a first in K-pop history.
