SM Classics to Host First Orchestra Concert Featuring Red Velvet and SHINee
SM Entertainment's classical and jazz label, SM Classics, is set to host its first-ever orchestra concert, 'SM CLASSICS LIVE 2025 with Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra'. The event will take place over two days, February 14th at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall and February 15th at the Lotte Concert Hall, marking a significant celebration of SM's 30th anniversary. This concert is anticipated to draw considerable attention from fans, as it represents SM Classics' inaugural orchestral live performance.
Since its launch in July 2020, SM Classics has been reimagining K-POP hits into orchestral versions and various classical music arrangements. Its collaboration with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra began with the release of an orchestral version of Red Velvet's 'Red Flavor', followed by 14 other tracks including Girls' Generation's 'Into The New World' and Red Velvet's 'Feel My Rhythm'. These arrangements have become iconic examples of SM's original IP expansion, offering fans a unique and deeply moving experience through orchestral performances of SM's beloved hits over the past 30 years.
In celebration of SM's 30th anniversary, SHINee's Minho will serve as the opening narrator for both days of the concert. Additionally, Red Velvet's Wendy is scheduled to perform as a guest artist on the 15th, alongside conductor Kim Yoo-won and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, promising to deliver an emotionally rich performance. The event on the 14th will also feature media art performances, aiming to captivate the audience's senses.
Tickets for the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall performance will go on sale on January 21st at 11 AM, while tickets for the Lotte Concert Hall performance will be available from January 22nd at 11 AM. Further details and ticket purchasing information can be found on SMTOWN's official SNS channels.
Looking ahead, SM Classics plans to expand its original IP globally, starting with the 'SM CLASSICS LIVE 2025' concert, and aims to fully launch its performance and sheet music IP licensing business.
