Red Velvet's Seulgi Donates 100 Million Won to Wildfire Victims
Red Velvet's Seulgi has generously donated 100 million won to support victims of the recent wildfires in South Korea, as announced by the Korean Red Cross on the 27th. The wildfires, which started in Sancheong, Gyeongnam, on the 21st, quickly spread to other regions including Gyeongbuk and Ulsan due to strong winds and dry conditions. The disaster has affected over 17,752 hectares, displaced 2,869 people, and damaged 317 buildings, with the numbers continuing to rise.
Seulgi expressed her deep sorrow for the victims, stating, "I was deeply saddened by the plight of those who lost their homes and livelihoods due to the unexpected wildfires. Although my contribution is small, I hope it can provide some relief." Her timely donation is seen not only as a practical aid for recovery but also as a reminder of the importance of solidarity and sharing in society.
The Korean Red Cross praised Seulgi's act, highlighting that it goes beyond financial support to embody a sense of public responsibility during disasters. The organization assured that the donation would be used transparently to assist the affected individuals. Meanwhile, the Korean Red Cross is conducting emergency fundraising until April 30th to aid the wildfire victims, with details available on their website and Naver Happy Bean.
