NewJeans Opens Up About Legal Battle and Activity Hiatus in BBC Korea Interview

In a recent interview with BBC Korea, NewJeans opened up about their decision to halt activities following a court's injunction ruling. The group expressed their shock and disappointment over the legal outcome, emphasizing their desire to continue their work without interference.

Danielle shared, "We expected a different outcome, and everyone was shocked by the news." Hyein added, "Some might think we're in a position where we can do anything, but the reality is different. We've faced unfairness and finally spoke up, yet the situation isn't in our favor. It took a lot of courage for us to voice our concerns."

Hanni revealed the group's fears, stating, "Our biggest fear is not being able to continue what we love. We're moving forward, but this fear lingers. Two years ago, we never imagined facing such challenges." She further expressed hope to avoid a future where they can't perform, saying, "We want to steer clear of any situation that might prevent us from doing what we love."

The Seoul Central District Court recently ruled in favor of an injunction filed against NewJeans by their agency, citing a breakdown in trust. The group respects the court's decision but plans to challenge it, stating their inability to continue with the agency under current circumstances. Following the ruling, NewJeans announced a temporary pause in their activities, starting with their absence from the 'ComplexCon' event in Hong Kong.
