K-Pop Stars Set to Shine at Lollapalooza Chicago This Summer
This summer, the spotlight at the major U.S. music festival Lollapalooza Chicago is set to shine brightly on K-Pop stars. Among the lineup are global sensations TWICE, alongside rising stars BOYNEXTDOOR, Xdinary Heroes, KISS OF LIFE, and KATSEYE, marking a significant moment for Korean music on the international stage.
Lollapalooza, which began in Chicago in 1991, has grown into a global phenomenon, attracting an average of 115,000 attendees daily at its Chicago event. This year, it features a mix of international artists, including Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler, The Creator, and Sabrina Carpenter, alongside the K-Pop acts.
TWICE, known for their stadium-filling concerts, including a historic performance at Japan's Kanagawa Nissan Stadium and a successful 'Ready To Be' world tour, will headline the festival. Xdinary Heroes, celebrated for their 'Closed Beta' concert series and 'Live and Fall' solo concert, are set to captivate the audience with their unique rock synergy.
BOYNEXTDOOR, who made waves with their third mini-album '19.99' and digital single 'Only One Day I Love You,' will perform on the festival's final day. KISS OF LIFE, despite debuting just six months ago, and KATSEYE, who debuted less than a year ago, are also ready to showcase their talents, proving the global appeal and rapid rise of new K-Pop acts.
KATSEYE, in particular, expressed their excitement on social media, stating, "Our dream has come true." Their agency, HYBE, and Geffen Records are confident that KATSEYE will leave a lasting impression on global music fans at Lollapalooza. Their debut EP 'SIS (Soft is Strong)' and title track 'Touch' have already garnered over 100 million streams on Spotify and earned them a spot on NME's list of 'Artists to Watch This Year.'
