BTS's 'Black Swan' Hits 500 Million Streams on Spotify, Adding Another Milestone to Their Legacy
BTS has achieved another significant milestone on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform. According to Big Hit Music on the 26th, 'Black Swan,' a track from BTS's fourth studio album 'MAP OF THE SOUL : 7,' has surpassed 500 million cumulative streams on Spotify as of March 25. 'Black Swan' is a dreamy composition that blends trap drum beats, melancholic lo-fi guitar melodies, and catchy hooks, encapsulating BTS's autobiographical message about the meaning of music in their lives.
Released ahead of their fourth studio album in January 2020, 'Black Swan' gained immense popularity, entering the US Main Song Chart 'Hot 100' (57th place) and the UK Official Singles 'Top 100' (46th place). It continues to receive love, even earning a 'Gold' certification in the streaming category from the Japan Record Association in 2024.
BTS boasts a total of 127 songs that have achieved over 100 million streams on Spotify, including 'Dynamite' with 2 billion streams, 'My Universe,' 'Butter,' and 'Boy With Luv (feat. Halsey)' each surpassing 1 billion streams. Among these, 14 songs have exceeded 500 million streams.
Not only group tracks but also BTS members' solo songs demonstrate formidable streaming power. Suga, under his alias Agust D, recently saw his solo album 'D-Day's title track 'Haegeum' exceed 500 million streams on Spotify. Other solo hits like Jin's 'The Astronaut,' Jimin's 'Who' and 'Like Crazy,' and Jungkook's 'Seven (feat. Latto),' 'Standing Next to You,' 'Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS),' and '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' have also surpassed 500 million streams on the platform.
